Books featuring characters with special needs: Reading books about characters who live different lives from me and face different challenges from me has consistently contributed to my wider understanding of the world I live in. I stand by my belief that being a reader makes you a better human, and we need better humans to rise up and be a strong voice for those whose are too easily silenced.
