What happens if you lose or damage a book?

It is very important students/parents notify the library as soon as possible about lost or damaged item(s).

Water damage: This can be minimised if students keep water bottles and library books separated.

The following process is followed:

  1. Library staff print out the 'items checked out' report and highlight the item.
  2. A replacement cost form is completed. The replacement cost is calculated using the ISB set exchange rate and includes handling and processing that may have been incurred to purchase the books.
  3. The notice is given to the student or parent.
  4. Payment is collected at the Box Office located on the 2nd floor.
  5. The payment receipt processed by the Box Office must be returned to the Library so that it can be cleared from the library account.
  6. The Library keeps the payment receipt for lost books. If the item is found and returned at a later date, the receipt may be returned to the Box Office for a refund.
